Let Us Pamper You

Jamieson House hosts Ned and Kathleen O’Reilly are expert pamperers.  We’ve been involved in a 25+ year romance ourselves, so we know what most folks need for a relaxing or romantic getaway.  In addition to the comfy beds in the spacious rooms described elsewhere Bedrooms, we love to cook, so breakfasts are always delicious.  For additional meals, we can point you toward a number of area restaurants. We want to make your experience unforgettable, so just ask us if there’s something special we can arrange for you.

BREAKFAST

We serve a variety of delectable entrees in the morning, and we promise that anyone staying multiple days will experience something different each day.  Our complimentary breakfasts always include a fresh fruit (could be sliced melon, a baked apple, or one of our many mixed fruit bowls) and sweetbread course (muffins, banana bread, scones with homemade jam).  We also fresh brew coffee while offering a variety of hot teas and always orange juice (but sometimes others juices as well).  The main course could be a pepper and zucchini fritatta or a banana souffle pancake or pumpkin nut waffles, and a breakfast meat.  Yet we also cater to any dietary needs and preferences (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.).

DINNER

We’re always trying new restaurants, so when you ask for a recommendation, we’ll certainly have one.  You also have the option of ordering pizza or hot sandwiches locally or, in the Hudson and Grant Suites, of bringing in something to heat in the microwave.  Anytime you want to eat in your room, we can easily provide plates, silverware, cutlery, cups, glasses, napkins – whatever you need.

TREATS

Kathleen’s getting real good at making truffles, which we often include with our Romance and Anniversary packages.  We’ve also been known to come up with a birthday cake, cookies, brownies, or even dairy-, egg-, sugar-, or gluten-free desserts.  (There’s this flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce... mmm...)  We’ll take orders ahead of time for the treat of your choice.

WINE

We always have a selection of wines available for purchase, particularly featuring Wollersheim Wines from their winery in nearby Sauk City.  We also keep champagne on hand for those special occasions and, if you let us know ahead, can provide other beverages and accoutrements.  We can also provide you with wine or champagne glasses and bottle openers.  We keep these in the parlor, the first room you’ll see when you come to visit.

MASSAGES

We know a terrific massage therapist who’s come in a number of times for half-hour or hour-long massages for our guests.  You won’t have to leave the house, so you can not only enjoy the utmost privacy, but you can go just a few steps and fall into one of our whirlpool tubs afterward.  Our expert can do traditional massage for relaxation or she can use essential oils, treat for injury, or even do hot stone massage.  Any of these experiences needs to be booked in advance, but oh, is it worth it!

MUSIC

Ned’s a music hound, albeit one with a bias toward 70s pop and singer/songwriter rock. All of our rooms have boom boxes, so we invite you to relax along with your music of choice.  We can lend you tunes from a selection of over a thousand CDs OR you can bring your own.  Sure, the full volume AC/DC might be a problem with other guests, but never with the owners!  We also have a solid selection of showtunes, chamber music, and the better children’s and family artists.  We already feature several mellow mixes with our Romance package, but if you’ve got something else in mind, just ask and Ned will customize.

MOVIES

All of our rooms have VCR’s and a couple have DVD players.  We’re working on converting all of our TVs, but in the meantime, ask us about borrowing a movie or we can send you to a local place to rent.  You can even bring your own.  Ask when you make your reservation whether you’ve got VCR or DVD capability in your room.  We also have a DVD player with our larger living room TV, so you can always watch there.  It’s also a good place to catch The Game.
